This kitchen and bathroom client wanted everything black. Black Kitchens are one of the most difficult to maintain and will always show every imperfection and fingerprint unless you choose the right refinishing products. This Erina space is a mix of Mediterranean Style and Hampton.
The paintwork alone was a mere nightmare to get right. If you noticed the benches or black marble with a white vein running through it. A stunning piece of stone in anybody’s book but a little bit on the pricey side. If You’re not a person that regularly maintains the cleans your cooking area our advice is don’t go for black in your kitchen design.
This client was fastidious with their cleaning routine and having no children around to mess it up does help somewhat.
A full walk-in pantry was refinished in the same Matt black coating. All of this sitting on a Neutral Beige full gloss tile. The kitchen benchtop that wraps around the sink and stove was in a bright clean Caesarstone and married up well to lift the heavy black kitchen. Having a beautiful country view through the large windows also helped to allow plenty of natural light to flow through this kitchen dining space. We thought we would add a clean mirrored splashback without any tint. By doing this the room is visually expanding and so is the view.
Overall a stunning, unusual cooking space and the centre of a gorgeous home in the hillsides of Erina.
